Clever OOH Campaign Announces Squid Game 2 Release Date

On August 1st, Netflix conducted surprise performances in major cities across six countries, including South Korea, France, the USA, Colombia, Argentina, and India, to build anticipation for Squid Game Season 2. In Seoul’s Gangnam district, performers dressed as pink guards removed a banner with the series' iconic shapes (circle, triangle, square) to reveal the release date.


As the banner was removed, revealing the message "The Real Game Begins," participants in Squid Game's signature green uniforms raced forward, vividly depicting the dramatic fate of the contestants who risk their lives in the game. This powerful imagery heightened the excitement for Squid Game Season 2, set to premiere on December 26, 2024.


During the high traffic morning hours in Gangnam, many people witnessed the performance. This event quickly became a trending topic on social media as people shared their experiences.



Netflix's advertisement video announcing the release date for Squid Game Season 2 was also released on August 1 and quickly climbed to the 5th spot on YouTube's trending videos on its first day. During the 33rd Paris Olympics, Netflix conducted performances in major cities including Paris, LA, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, and Mumbai.


Until the premiere date of December 26, the CBO remains interested to see how Netflix will continue to build anticipation for the expectant global audience.
